Here at Protrolley we have been busy servicing Electric  Golf Trolleys from local Clubs. People have no problems with having their cars serviced on a regular basis , but expect their trolleys to go on for ever with little or no attention.

The reality is that the first time they know the trolley has problems is when it lets them down. Surely it is better to spend a few pounds keeping yours in shape rather than getting let down at a vital stage of a match, or on a cold wet day with a long trek back to the Clubhouse cursing your luck.

Racism has no place in modern society , no argument there . However I can’t help feeling that the row over Tiger’s ex caddie , Steve Williams , has been fuelled by the media. No one has even published the alleged racist remarks , which were made at a private end of season function known for its fun and games , so I doubt that there is much substance to the whole thing.

The other off- course news was Rory McIlroy splitting from his Manager Chubby Chandler’s ISM Group. Both are saying the split is amicable and perhaps Rory feels that he needs more attention than that group can give him , as they also manage Darren Clarke , Lee Westwood and Charl Schwartzel to name a few. It failed to affect his performance last week with him finishing a solid 4th behind Martin Kaymer in China.

We should not be afraid to try new things with our own game. You may be amazed at the difference adding  an electric trolley or a Gps device to your armoury can make. You will never know unless you decide to make the change. It would be galling to find out that these things could have helped your game for years whilst you have struggled on without them. It may not be as big a change as Rory changing his management but it might just shave a shot or two of your game and will certainly make it more enjoyable.

What a fantastic performance by Sergio Garcia to win the last two events on the European Tour. Whilst he has shown signs of a revival this year , he really has proved just what a talent he is by nailing  these last two tournaments. Confidence restored , it will be interesting if he can now go on to fulfil his huge talent by winning a Major in 2012.

With all the new names appearing on the World golf scene , we are in for exciting times !

The same can be said for the new equipment available today. Electric trolleys , high performance drivers, GPS devices , lightweight clothing and so on , all make for more fun from of our golf. A fantastic weekend for European golfers with Luke Donald winning in America to wrap up the money list, and Sergio Garcia finally getting his career back on track, with a stunning eleven shot rout of the field on his home course near Valencia. Donald still leads the money list in Europe by around a million euro , so has a chance to become the first player to top both lists in the same year. He is , however , missing some of the remaining eight events due to imminent fatherhood, so no doubt he will be monitoring the progress of his pursuers.

As I mentioned last week , many players are emerging as World beaters, as the threat from Tiger has gone away , for the moment anyway ! It points to how the mind can sometimes limit performance, by becoming negative, rather than the focus being on what you can achieve. By the same token some golfers refuse to open their minds to the many advancements that have been made in equipment.

Why would you carry your bag around the course when Electric golf trolleys are now available ? What a fantastic performance by Tom Lewis to secure his first Pro win in only his 4th start on the European Tour ! Lewis becomes the latest “new kid on the block”  following Rory McIlroy, in taking the Tour by storm. Its the same in America with Fowler , Simpson ,Watney ,Woodland , Cauley and others all suddenly bursting into the public eye. Why are we seeing so many new faces ? Well one opinion is that with Tiger having experienced so many problems, they now realise that they can win tournaments, instead of  feeling they were playing for second place , as was the case when Tiger was so dominant.

I am not sure that Tiger is washed up yet , but if and when he returns to something like his former game, he will find he doesn’t scare these guys. Exciting times for us all whatever happens !

Change happens in the game all the time and we should embrace it , just as we have with our Electric Golf  Trolleys, and other modern equipment that has made our game more enjoyable.
